Don’t give up yet if you’re still on the hunt for parts to start a new build or upgrade an older setup, as there are options available. At this point, most know that prices for DDR5 have hit epic high levels and are not expected to return from orbit anytime soon, but online retailer Newegg has experience in helping PC builders to find ways to get needed parts at more affordable prices. Anyone who has ever procured a hard-to-find GPU in a combo is familiar with Newegg’s deals, and the latest follow the same trend.

For a limited time, the following combo also includes a key for Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition and a Cooler Master 360 Elite AIO. Technically speaking, this is a 2-part combo featuring a GIGABYTE Z890 Motherboard and G.Skill 32 GB DDR5 6000 MT/s memory kit. The following was reported on by Tom’s Hardware, but folks should check Newegg regularly if looking for similar upgrades, as the retailer has been posting combos including DDR5 kits since before Black Friday.

DDR5 Pawnshop Deals?

This next story will likely have pawnshop owners doing more research and checking in-store inventory, as one lucky person scored a major deal. After negotiating the price down to $600 from $750, the new owner of this used PC took home a system with an Intel 14900KF CPU, including an AIO, an RTX GPU, and 64 GB DDR5 6000 MT/s memory. Needless to say, this buy is a proverbial steal just for the memory alone.

All this being said, the current memory shortage is a roadblock, but it doesn’t mean that with more effort, some good deals can still be found. Whether it be an online combo or perhaps a used PC in an unlikely place, some lucky person might find a great deal.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
