Gameplay Performance
In this section, we chose a game resolution of 1440p (2650×1440) as this is the target for the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC. Our comparison video card is the XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition. Within this benchmark suite are four games that utilize “always-on” ray tracing for lighting effects, these are: Claire Obscur: Expedition 33, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and Star Wars Outlaws. As always, we select the highest in-game quality preset. In Black Myth: Wukong we did lower the quality preset to Very High to achieve playable frame rates.
Alan Wake 2

Both our video cards are very fast here with smooth gameplay. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition is quicker here by 12.5%. When overclocked, the gap shrinks quite a bit. Overclocking gains just over 8%.
Black Myth: Wukong

This game has been very graphically difficult in the past testings we have done. We did lower the preset one notch to very high to compensate. However, Nvidia released a new driver addressing performance issues in the game, which has boosted FPS dramatically. We see both cards offer smooth fast, gameplay with there being essentially a draw on performance. Overclocking does make a difference here, adding 8%.
Claire Obscur: Expedition 33

Given the always-on ray tracing in this game, the performance tightens up quite a bit. The differences here are 10% but dead even when upscaled. If you overclock the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC it is equal or quicker when upscaled. Overclocking gains 10% here.
Cyberpunk 2077

Both cards are very playable here. The differences are only about 2%. The overclocked card is clearly the better performer. We gain 10% by overclocking.
DOOM: The Dark Ages

Again, in this always on ray tracing game, the two video cards show nearly identical performance. There is a tiny difference upscaled, but the game is fast without it. The overclocked MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC is the better card here by 7%, a nice gain for overclocking.
Horizon Forbidden West

Both video cards do well here. The FPS is quite fast, and the gameplay is very smooth. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition is the better of the two by 9% here. Overclocking will gain 8% and in fact raise the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC performance to the front when upscaled.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC performs very well in this game, another with always-on ray tracing. Overclocking boosts performance by 8%. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 XT White Triple Fan Gaming Edition likewise is pretty swift and playable, but about 17% slower in this case.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Here we see that both video cards have excellent gameplay. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G VENTUS 3X PZ OC is the faster of the two by 13%, with the difference narrowing to 8% upscaled. Once again, the overclocked card is the fastest, gaining 8%.
