Crimson Desert is poised for an impressive launch on March 19, with early pre-order sales estimates reported in the $20 million range. It’s been over five years since the open-world RPG was revealed at The Game Awards in 2020, and after multiple launch delays, it will officially be released for PC and consoles tomorrow. According to Alinea Analytics (via TechPowerUp), there have been the better part of 400,00 pre-orders on Steam alone, which, as impressive as that is, sales numbers could be much larger since it is also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games store fronts as well.

“Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure set on the continent of Pywel. Join Kliff on his journey to rebuild the Greymane faction and to save the land from a looming threat. From vast wilderness and cities to ruins and the mysterious Abyss, forge your path through battles and discovery.”

Interest in Crimson Desert has been steadily building since its announcement, but it hit a major milestone recently after a PlayStation 5 gameplay demo was shown on YouTube. Pearl Abyss has gained praise for the game’s performance, whereby it can be seen that players should be able to enjoy not having to deal with traversal stutters, texture pop-ins, low framerates, or other annoying issues often found in games both at and long after launch.

Pearl Abyss has gone all out on revealing hardware requirements for PC, PlayStation 5/5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, ASUS ROG Xbox Ally/Ally X, and Mac in resolutions from 720p to 4K. The developers have also received positive feedback from the gaming community for the game’s minimum hardware requirements, which indicates that a wide range of hardware will be capable of running the game.

Crimson Desert will support FSR 3/4, DLSS 4/4.5 on PC, PSSR for PS5 Pro, and then FSR 3 for the PS5 base model and Xbox Series X|S. AMD FSR Ray Regeneration and NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction are also supported on PC. Mac users get support with MetalFX Upscaler, Frame Generation, and Denoiser.

Details regarding digital editions, which begin at $69.99, and physical editions can be found here.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
