Archetype Entertainment has shared new gameplay footage showcasing combat from its upcoming adaptation of Peter Hamiltion’s novels. The studio is made up of veterans from across the video game industry, and trailers continue to showcase their heritage, particularly through their contributions to the Mass Effect franchise.
“We’re excited to share more work-in-progress gameplay. This time, a new combat encounter inside Khonsu, a Celestial-built defense platform orbiting your homeworld.”

The sneak peek video shows the main protagonist, Jun Aslan, making his way through the corridors of Khonsu with teammates Tom and Elise as they encounter an ancient defense system. In this section, Jun is using a “Recycler” to engage enemies as he cycles through its repeater and shredder modes. When needed, he employs his guantlet “Lance” special ability to deal heavy damage to enemies by throwing livestone javelins.
Archetype has said it hopes to launch EXODUS in early 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Another gameplay video was also released last month, and unfortunately also age-restricted) giving a deeper first look into what to expect. The developers did note that the game’s UI is still a work in progress and have indicated a much longer game showcase will arrive this summer.
“Worldbuilding has always been at the heart of EXODUS. In the lead-up to our longer gameplay showcase this summer, we’ll keep sharing lore and worldbuilding that broadens the picture. Some of it will be new. Some will revisit stories and features that not everyone saw the first time.”

Meanwhile, here are some screenshots to give a better idea of where development is now. Things are looking pretty exciting with the game looking to be an epic-sized science fiction adventure. The developers are closely listening to the community and are providing regular updates, which is also a good sign of commitment and progress.
