Ready or Not, VOID Interactive’s tactical FPS that “depicts a modern-day world in which SWAT police units are called to defuse hostile and confronting situations,” may no longer be exclusive to PC, according to a new report that explains how the developer has suffered a data breach in which over 4 TB of data (2.1 million files) has been stolen, including the source code for the game and build data for what is said to be various console versions. Described as a spiritual successor to Sierra’s SWAT series and developed on Unreal Engine 4, Ready or Not is currently 33% off on Steam as part of the FPS Fest sale.

Build data and/or images were reportedly found for:

  • Xbox One
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 5

Insider Gaming’s video on the subject:

Players are saying:

  • “The only game where the bots can be truly unpredictable instead of moving like vegetables.”
  • “Raided a crack house, arrested the perps, saved a hostage, hostage pulled out a phone, thought they were pulling a gun, no hostage anymore. Very immersive.”
  • “Game is slowly getting to a point where I call it polished, but there is A LOT of room for improvement, and they are slowly but surely making the game better update by update.”
  • “played for epic fps gameplay, stayed for killing pedos”

A warning about the game:

Given the graphic nature of the game and the gritty realism it portrays, the game is for mature audiences. We will also strongly recommend that people who have experienced personal traumatic events from criminal violence, hostage situations or terrorism refrain from playing. At its core, the game honors the work of dedicated law enforcement officers across the world and in no way intends on glorifying cowardly criminal acts.
