Disney has announced that it will be introducing several price hikes for its Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ streaming services, and with it comes the news that the monthly cost of Disney+’s ad-supported tier will rise by $2 to $9.99, while its ad-free tier will rise by $2 to $15.99—more than double what the service cost at launch ($6.99). These price hikes will go into effect on October 17, according to several reports online that noted the company last raised prices a year ago, but that only ad-free tiers were affected.
The new prices include:
- Disney+ (Ad-supported): $9.99/month ($2 increase)
- Disney+ (Ad-free): $15.99/month ($2 increase)
- The Disney Bundle: $10.00/month ($1 increase)
- ESPN+: $11.99/month ($1 increase)
- Hulu With Live TV: $82.99/month ($6 increase)

The Hollywood Reporter noted in its report:
…with the price hikes, Disney is also adding new features to Disney+. Most notably, the company is adding “playlists” to the service, effectively linear channels for viewers to jump and start watching like a traditional TV network.
That will include the ABC News Live, the live streaming service of Disney-owned ABC News, and a playlist of preschool content (think Sofia the First, The Lion Guard, Puppy Dog Pals).
