The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now available for purchase, and with it comes the news that AMD’s first “Zen 5” desktop processor to feature 3D V-Cache, priced at $479, can hit 6.9 GHz and enable frame rates as high as 1,400+ FPS in popular games that include Valorant and Counter-Strike 2 when cooled with liquid nitrogen. News of the 9800X3D’s overclocking performance comes as scalpers have begun selling the CPU for what many might consider to be exorbitant prices, with listings on eBay and other auction sites ranging anywhere from $700 to $1,000—over $500 more than AMD’s SEP. See below for some of the price listings for the new CPU, which is out of stock at major retailers that include B&H Photo and Newegg at the time of this posting.
Combined with the advanced “Zen 5” processor architecture, the AMD 3D V-Cache technology works to attain the highest processor gaming performance on the market. While the generational uplift in average FPS is about 8%, many games such as Star Wars Outlaws will experience double-digit percentage improvements generationally. What’s more, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor can demonstrate substantial generational improvements in minimum frame rates even when average frame rates are similar, providing the user with an experience that feels smoother, with less stutter – for instance, in The Last Of Us: Part 1, where the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has a similar average frame rate compared to the competition, but a 31% higher 1% low frame rate.

In-stock and priced at $476 on Amazon right now. Hopefully AMD can keep the stock flowing so those scalpers can't make a cent off them.
Sold out everywhere that I can see though I wasn't trying to get one so I didn't look real hard.
Oh, seems you guys are right. When I searched 9800x3d it showed me the 7800x3d instead. I didn't even notice.
Sadly, I did expect this to happen, and pretty much the same with almost anything people might have a great interest in buying. I did some research over the summer and was really bummed to see that scalping is considered a recognized taxable business throughout much of the world, including the U.S. and there are even tutorials online about how to do it. It disgusts me but it is what it is.
