The latest rumors for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 indicate a November release date along with a first-ever experimental final mission campaign. According to industry information leaker billbil-kun, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will arrive on November 14 for PC and most consoles, but is reportedly skipping the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch. While Switch 2 owners have cause to expect a version, given that Microsoft, after purchasing Activision Blizzard, signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo, it has been rumored that Nintendo has not provided enough developer kits to studios, thus limiting the number of new games that can be released for it on their respective launch dates. It is suspected that the Switch 2 will still get its own version, but that might not happen until 2026.

Pricing is said to be as follows for both PS4 and PS5: $69.99 standard edition, $99.99 for The Weapons Chest Edition. Pre-orders for both digital and physical editions are said to go live this Wednesday, following an official reveal at gamescom 2025. Presently, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is expected to launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and possibly Xbox One (per last year’s announcement).

The next rumor comes from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, whose sources have indicated that a new and highly experimental campaign feature involving the final mission is in the works. If accurate, a new Battle Royale map, speculated to be the “Avalon” map, will unlock for the game’s 12th and final mission. While the standard campaign mode allows up to 4-player co-op, this map will integrate all of the campaigns in the game, enabling up to 32 players to join in. Furthermore, regardless of which campaign a player is joining from, their progress will still be noted there, and player level-ups, weapon modifications, and more will carry over. More about this is also expected to be revealed at the official gamescom 2025 announcement tomorrow.

“It’s said that the somewhat bizarre move for the multiplayer and campaign merge in Black Ops 7 is a part of the game’s full progression integration across all three game modes (campaign, multiplayer, and zombies).”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
