Details for the next Fallout 76 expansion have been revealed this week, including how Goggins will join in voicing the game version of The Ghoul. Amazon’s 2024 streaming adaptation won two Emmy awards for outstanding media program and outstanding music supervision at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, and then also won another in the Best Adaptation category at The Game Awards. Season 2 is right around the corner and will begin streaming on December 17. Meanwhile, Bethesda has been busy getting Fallout 76: Burning Springs ready for launch and has revealed that Goggins will reprise his role as The Ghoul.
“We’re extremely excited to share that The Ghoul from the Fallout TV Show on Amazon Prime will be joining us in Burning Springs! Voiced by Walton Goggins himself, The Ghoul will be your guide in all things Bounty Hunting.”
-Bethesda Game Studios
Fallout 76: Burning Springs is set in southeastern Ohio, where players can take on bounties in a new questline that will span multiple forthcoming updates. Burning Springs was not only devastated by the nuclear Holocaust, but it also had to deal with toxic waste from the local Abraxodyne Chemical plant. Ruled by a supermutant called The Rust King, players will have plenty to deal with in Burning Springs in completing contracts and other events.
“Form your posse and collect on Appalachia’s most wanted in all-new Bounty Hunting missions hosted by none other than The Ghoul, the steely-eyed gunslinger originally featured in Amazon’s Fallout television series!”
-Bethesda Game Studios
From new content, mods, and maps to added features, weapons, perks, and mutations, there’s a wealth of information regarding the upcoming expansion, which can be found here (seriously, there’s a lot of information and far too much to list here). One thing to note, however, is that a public testing server is now live for those who want to try it out. Please be aware that players will not be able to carry over their progress to the final release when it becomes available. It’s said that Burning Springs will be the largest Fallout 76 expansion since Wastelanders was released in 2020, and is also expected to arrive in December when the streaming series returns.
