Asus has revealed a new case mod designed by Taiwanese modders AK Mod and CDPR, turning the ROG Xbox Ally X into a sleek Cyberpunk 2077-themed gaming handheld. Unlike most graphics cards, which incorporate some very basic imagery and/or designs, this case mod goes all out and is undoubtedly truly a Cyberpunk 2077-inspired art piece.

Perhaps the biggest tease with this beautiful case mod is the lack of mention regarding price or availability. Furthermore, as mentioned by VideoCardz, ASUS is not offering this as a new retail model, and its existence exposes a customer market for custom ROG Xbox Ally X cases. Given the push for Xbox gaming on multiple platforms and the popularity of Cyberpunk 2077, it makes perfect sense for the mod, even if the game is six years old now. However, Arc Raiders, Resident Evil Requiem, and Subnautica 2 (which, by the way, has now sold over 2 million copies) are just a few of the blockbusters from 2026 that would likely attract fans. An Indiana Jones and the Great Circle-themed case mod could also look snazzy, and given the positive reviews for Forza Horizon 6, it too could be a prime candidate.

Hardware used in the gaming handheld is likely to support games for a number of years to come, so there’s plenty of time for ASUS to partner with AK Studios for more and provide fans with designs of their favorite games.

  • Memory: 24GB LDDR5X

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
