NVIDIA Confirms RTX Spark N1X Laptop Specifications as Partners Prepare to Begin Launching Products Next Month

NVIDIA has officially revealed the two configurations of the N1X processor used in its upcoming laptop merging Blackwell RTX graphics with an ARM-based Grace CPU. NVIDIA partners Acer, ASUS, Dell, GIGABYTE, HP, Lenovo, and MSI are all preparing their own models featuring the RTX Spark “Superchip”, which are said to arrive in October. Up until now, we knew there would be two processor versions but not their specifications. Still, here we are at the end of summer, and as is usual for this time of year, with official announcements and rumors ramping up ahead of the holidays and CES 27.

NVIDIA has said that the RTX Spark N1X will debut in two variations: one with 6,144 GPU cores and a 20-core CPU, while the other with 5,120 GPU cores and an 18-core CPU. The higher core count model will support up to 128 GB (prepare for getting a 2nd mortgage given current memory costs), with the lower core version limited to 32 GB of memory. It’s still unknown if both versions will make their debut in October or if one will follow the other. It has already been discovered that ASUS is employing liquid metal to cool the RTK Spark. This solution, while effective, has significant risks if done improperly, as it can corrode nearby components when applied. Per WccfTech, ASUS will not be utilizing any vapor chamber cooling for its ProArtP14 or ProArtP16 laptops. It remains to be seen what cooling solutions other manufacturers will apply for the NVIDIA RTX Spark, but it is clear that most are aiming for a thin notebook design, which presents challenges with performance vs cooling capacity.
