Due to the ramifications of COVID-19, Warner Bros. is, once again, delaying a handful of its upcoming blockbusters.

The first to get shuffled (via Deadline) is Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which has been pushed back by about two weeks, from July 17 to July 31. That’s not a major shift, but it’s bad news for AMC, Regal, and other major theater chains, which have gotten antsy about re-opening and hinged most of their plans on the highly anticipated time-bender.

“Instead on July 17, Warner Bros. Pictures is partnering with exhibitors to invite audiences around the world to the 10th anniversary re-release of Nolan’s Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard,” reported Deadline. “That special anniversary theatrical event also will give audiences a never-before-seen look at footage from Tenet and an exclusive sneak peek of select films on Warner Bros.’ upcoming slate.”

DC’s sequel for Diana Prince, Wonder Woman 1984, has also been delayed from August 14 to October 2, 2020. Star Gal Gadot confirmed the news in a tweet sent out yesterday.

Finally, Matrix 4 and Godzilla vs. Kong have been moved to April 1, 2022 and May 21, 2020, respectively. That’s a nearly year-long delay for the former, which was originally set to debut on Kong’s date (May 21).
