Prometheus and Alien: Covenant didn’t do a lot of favors for the Alien franchise, but Ridley Scott isn’t giving up yet. In a recent interview with Forbes regarding his latest sci-fi streaming series, Raised by Wolves, the legendary director confirmed that he is working on another Alien movie. While the story is unknown, Scott gave the impression that it could be a reboot of some sort.

“That’s in process,” Scott revealed. “We went down a route to try and reinvent the wheel with Prometheus and Covenant. Whether or not we go directly back to that is doubtful because Prometheus woke it up very well. But you know, you’re asking fundamental questions like, ‘Has the Alien himself, the facehugger, the chestburster, have they all run out of steam? Do you have to rethink the whole bloody thing and simply use the word to franchise?’ That’s always the fundamental question.”

In the meantime, Alien fans should definitely check out Raised by Wolves, which is now streaming exclusively on HBO Max. The series revolves around a pair of Androids that attempt to raise a human family on a distant, dry planet called Kepler-22b but run into a lot of trouble. Ridley Scott directed the series’s first two episodes, the first of which you can watch in full below.
