APISAK has uncovered new benchmarks for AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X and Ryzen 9 5900X processors on Geekbench. They give us an early glimpse at how red team’s latest flagships compare with their Zen 2 predecessors, as well as direct competitors such as Intel’s Core i9-10900K.
The Ryzen 9 5950X achieved a single-core score of 1,575 and multi-core score of 13,605, while the Ryzen 9 5900X achieved a single-core score of 1,605 and multi-core score of 12,869.
In comparison, the Ryzen 9 3950X averages a 1,292 single-core score and 14,097 multi-core score, while the Ryzen 9 3900X averages a 1,280 single-core score and 11,861 multi-core score.
While there are seemingly anomalous results in the multi-core department (e.g., the Ryzen 9 5950X’s multi-core score is lower than the Ryzen 9 3950X’s average), a 20 percent improvement in single-core operations seems like a plausible estimate.
As for Intel, the Core i9-10900K averages a 1,412 single-core score and 11,101 multi-core score on Geekbench. That’s around 11 percent and 20 percent slower than the Ryzen 9 5950X in single- and multi-core operations, respectively.
It’s also worth pointing out that the Ryzen 9 5950X hit 5.01 GHz in the Geekbench 5 benchmark. AMD has 4.9 GHz listed for its maximum boost clock.
