3DCenter.org has released the latest retail price trends for AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards in the German market. It’s not looking good for enthusiasts who were hoping that GPU prices might hit reasonable levels in the coming months.
According to the latest chart, pricing for AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards have both risen since August 8. The average cost of AMD’s options have gone up by 5 percent, while NVIDIA’s options have gone up by nearly 10 percent. These numbers suggest an average increase of 64 percent and 59 percent over MSRP for AMD and NVIDIA cards in the German market, respectively.
The costs of Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards have actually been steadily rising since July 4 in the German market, but NVIDIA users were encouraged to maintain some optimism due to a downtrend in average pricing that began in the week of July 18. Unfortunately, that ended by August 8.
The increase in pricing is presumably due to lack of availability. As 3DCenter points out, graphics cards such as the Radeon RX 6800 seem to be nearly impossible to find these days. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070, GeForce RTX 3080, and GeForce RTX 3090 aren’t exactly easy to find, either.
It remains to be seen whether the current development is ultimately just a “hiccup” – or possibly the end of the dream of viable graphics card prices (close to list prices) in the near future. […] it seems a bit strange that NVIDIA is planning a GeForce RTX 30 “SUPER” series for the end of the year in this situation, but you should first work on a better delivery capacity.
