Warner Bros. Montréal released a PC patch for Gotham Knights earlier this week that saw the removal of Denuvo, but it was an accident, according to a SteamDB update highlighted on reddit’s r/pcgaming that can confirm the anti-tamper technology has been added back to the superhero co-op title. The slip-up has prompted many to speculate that a pirated copy of Gotham Knights may be out sooner rather than later, while others fear that the new game could be a target for hackers. Gotham Knights released last Friday but has received disappointing reviews for reasons that include poor performance and a dull story, possibly stemming from the lack of Batman, who has been advertised as being dead in the game.

Praise the lord. We can finally sleep in peace. This incident should serve as a reminder to always have the Steam client online and connected so that it can automatically download and update our games. Wouldn't want to miss out on all the game enhancements provided by Denuvo.
