USA Network and the Franco Brothers (James and Dave Franco) are adapting David Kushner’s book “Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture” for television. The show will chronicle the rise of id Software and how its founders developed DOOM, one of the most successful video game franchises ever.
Tom Bissell will serve as writer and executive producer on the series. Bissell is no stranger to the video game world, having written for installments in franchises such as “Uncharted” and “Battlefield.” Bissell is also the co-author of the book “The Disaster Artist,” which was turned into a critically-acclaimed film directed by James Franco with both James and Dave also starring.
