What’s in the Box?
In the box, you’ll find the Ryzen 5 3400G CPU, Ryzen case badge, warranty guide, and a Wraith Spire CPU cooler. Many people often act like the included CPU coolers are a value add compared to Intel CPU’s. I’m of the opinion that most enthusiasts won’t bother with the mediocre heat sink and fan AMD typically includes. The higher-end CPUs have nicer included coolers, but I think there are far better options out there and the cost of better cooling is worthwhile.
That said, the context of AMD’s Ryzen 5 3400G is a bit different. Someone spending $500 on a 3900X probably already has water cooling or a high-end AIO or even a top-end air cooling option. Someone looking to build a system with an APU will probably appreciate the included cooler and may very well utilize it. This does create a value add scenario when comparing to Intel’s closest price offering, the Core i5 9400.

The packaging and included options are the same as the rest of the Ryzen family with the only real difference being the cooling. The 3900X does get a slightly different package, but it still looks very similar to the rest of the product line.
