The next MacBookPro may be using an AMD RDNA graphics solution. A twitter user named APISAK has found a geekbench listing for an interesting looking product. See below:

  • OS-macOS 10.15.1(Build 19B2093)
  • Model-MacBookPro16.1
  • CPU-Intel Core i9-9980HK 8c/16t @ 2.4Ghz
  • Ram-DDR4 32GB @ 1333Mhz
  • GPU-ATI Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of Vram

OC3D has reported this GPU would have roughly a 50% performance increase over the previous model along with nearly twice the v-ram.

The CPU and RAM seem a little on the slower side of things but overall this 16.1″ model seems ready to get down and do some work. No mention on storage, ports, or screen specs.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
