Halo: Reach PC Launching with “Experimental” Variable Frame Rate Option

343 Studios has confirmed that the PC port of Halo: Reach will launch with a variable frame rate (VFR) option. Unfortunately, it’ll be in an “experimental” stage, which means that players should expect negative side effects and issues such as increased mouse input delay and general instability. That’s because the original was designed to run in 30 FPS, but the team is doing what it can to meet earlier promises.

We know this is a very important feature for the community, and with some recent refinements, VFR will be included at launch. Based on the recent improvements receiving positive feedback, we wanted players to have the option to use the experimental VFR option on Day 1. We look forward to your feedback and will continue to monitor this closely post-launch.
