Seems like barely a day goes by recently without some mention of some kind of a streaming service. Google launched their Stadia platform, Steam has made announcements, Intel revealed a cloud-gaming controller, and Microsoft is also developing their service called Project xCloud.

With all of these options game exclusives would seem to follow suit. Well not so fast for the Project xCloud. Despite xCloud CVP Kareem Choudhry stating they had begun talks for making platform exclusives Gamasutra is now reporting a follow up statement from another member of the team. The spokesperson for Xbox, has stated they are actually developing a “multi-year journey”. They go on to explain being committed to streaming that is complimentary to consoles and not planning exclusives, currently. We have seen how game exclusives can influence people on which console they purchase. Would exclusives affect your choice for a streaming service?

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
