If you’re interested in playing Remedy Entertainment’s latest action-adventure game, the Epic Games Store remains the only place that’ll carry it in the foreseeable future. During a recent Extra Life stream on Microsoft’s streaming service Mixer, head of Xbox Phil Spencer claimed that Control would be coming to Xbox Game Pass, which might have been awesome news if it was actually true: Remedy has sent out a correction, insisting that it has no plans for that at this time.

The Xbox boss casually revealed the news during a recent Extra Life stream on Mixer. When discussing his favourite games of the year with developers from 343 Industries, Spencer said, “I thought Control was really good. It didn’t reach enough people, so I’m glad to see that it’s coming to Game Pass so hopefully more people will play it.” You can watch him discuss Control around the 44-minute mark.
