Director J.J. Abrams recently spoke about the many different comments that have come up about Star Wars. He answered on this polarized topic after a screening Rise of Skywalker by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Captured by Twitter user, Kaila Ren, this moment can be seen below.

Speaking on Rian’s choices to go directions no one expected he elaborated that it presented unknown challenges and options. He also explains the process of trying to continue the various story arcs and the narratives taken to address them.

We live in a moment where everything seems to immediately default to outrage, and there’s an M.O. of it’s either exactly as I see it or you’re my enemy…

There’s such a thing as a norm that seems to be devoid of compassion and acceptance. . .

“. . . we knew starting this, any decision we made—a design decision, a musical decision, a narrative decision—would please someone and infuriate someone else.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
