Following six-months of Epic Games Store exclusivity, Borderlands 3 is finally coming to Steam next month. While there’s no way to pre-purchase the massively popular loot shooter yet, the store page does show a planned release date of March 13.

During PAX East, Gearbox revealed that the Steam version will support PC crossplay with the Epic Games Store. This means that users from both storefronts can team up for the game’s multiplayer modes, which comprise Campaign, Circle of Slaughter, and Proving Grounds. It’s all made possible by “some new SHiFT matchmaking functionality.”

Borderlands 3’s second campaign add-on, Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, will launch two weeks later on March 26. The DLC promises “plenty of new loot to chase after … including additional Legendaries, supremely powerful Class Mods, and fresh cosmetic items like Vault Hunter Heads and Skins, interactive Room Decorations, and all-new Vehicle Skins.” A fan-favorite from Borderlands 2, Mechromancer Gaige, also makes her return.

As for what’s coming next, Gearbox has shared a Spring 2020 Roadmap that teases what’s in store for April and May. These include Mayhem Mode 2.0, a free end-game update with overhauled modifiers and additional loot; Revenge of the Cartels, a free in-game event with unique rewards; and Guardian Takedown, a free Eridian-themed content update with new bosses and gear.

The developer also posted concept art hinting at what the third campaign add-on will bring. Evidently, “outlaws and dinosaurs” are involved – an interesting combination. Gearbox will have more to share at a later date, but the paid content will arrive in the summer.

Borderlands fans who own the Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition can access all of this content as soon as it launches. The next seasonal event, Revenge of the Cartels, kicks off in April.
