Gaming desks and chairs are already yesterday’s news.

Japanese company Bauhutte has introduced a series of furniture that can be placed around a mattress or futon to create a “gaming bed.” That’s right – you don’t even need to get up from bed anymore to log on to Steam and frag opponents.

The modular system begins with Bauhutte’s “Bed Desk,” which, according to Google Translate, is a “bed-dedicated desk that kills people.” The desk is height adjustable and comes with plenty of useful accessories, such as a wire basket for holding controllers. There’s even a set of cup holders for thirstier types.

Another core component is the “Long Side Table,” a slim bedside table that’s also adjustable. Rollers allow it to be easily maneuverable to be within arm’s reach, so it’s an ideal place for keyboards and controllers. It also features a detachable power strip, which makes charging mobile devices very easy.

And then there’s the cleverly named “Energy Wagon.” This is essentially a large food cart that’s designed to store gaming’s finest delicacies, such as Doritos, jelly beans, and Mountain Dew. Wire baskets are also supported for additional snack or accessory storage.

Rounding things off is an “Adjustable Headboard,” which adds a large, three-level shelf to the front of the bed for storing everything from hardware boxes and clothing to “your favorite stuffed animals and figures.” Bookends can be installed for paperbacks and game cases.

Bauhutte’s gaming bed is pretty amusing in itsself, but they have plenty of other wild stuff in their catalog. One of these is a “Gaming Camp,” which encases players in a tent for “deep immersion.” Be sure to air it out after lengthier sessions.
