What better way than to start your summer than stocking up on some of your favorite games with discounts? How about getting games that are DRM-free? Well, GOG, or Good Old Games, has begun its annual summer sale. Those not familiar with GOG might not be aware that there is a gaming service out there that explicitly offers games without DRM, thus allowing you to completely own your games. Its new gaming client, GOG Galaxy, also offers all of the amenities a gamer would expect from their gaming client.

We don’t believe in controlling you and your games. Here, you won’t be locked out of titles you paid for, or constantly asked to prove you own them – this is DRM-free gaming.

GOG Galaxy is the tailor-made optional client that adds features like cloud saves, update roll-backs, crossplay, achievements, is a convenient way to install & update games, and stay in touch with friends.

Here’s a list of a few games that may be of interest:

  • Metro Exodus Gold Edition: 55% off for $29.24. If you didn’t want to get it on Epic or Steam, then check it out here. The gold edition includes both DLCs. It should be noted that 4A games recently released an update removing Denuvo from all versions, but this is still a great price for the game and its DLC.
  • Prey Digital Deluxe Edition: 70% off for $11.99. This digital deluxe edition includes the DLC and soundtrack.
  • Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition: 75% off for $4.99. Includes Awakening expansion pack and nine content packs.
  • Dishonored Complete Collection: 70% off for $23.99. Includes all DLC, along with Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Digital Deluxe Edition: 75% off for $11.29. Includes the season pass, which comprises two new story DLCs and the “Assault” and “Tactical” weapon packs.
  • Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Imperial Edition Bundle: 35% off for $38.99. This bundle includes a lot of items. From DLC, the soundtrack, portraits, digital map, digital art book, season pass, and more, it pretty much covers the spectrum of a bundle.

With over 3000 deals available, there are many more games to check out. GOG also has discounted bundles for those wanting to complete a collection. The sale began on May 27th and ends on June 15th.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
