The future of Kathleen Kennedy’s employment with Disney could be in doubt. Giant Freakin Robot (GFR) has been tracking turmoil regarding the current president of Lucasfilm for some time. It is no secret that the recent trilogy and spin-off attempt, Solo, encountered backlash from fans and underperformed in theaters. Finding support for them would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Over the course of 2020, GFR has reported on rumors regarding the troubled franchise. With the overwhelming success of The Mandalorian, some began to wonder if a change of leadership might be needed. Now it seems that one of its sources is stating this could, in fact, be happening.

No one knows for sure who would replace her. Part of the ongoing rumors has been that George Lucas could make a comeback, or that Jon Favreau could be given the reigns. Considering his many well-received and profitable projects with Disney, this seems plausible. Even a collaboration between the two may be in the works.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
