MSI is preparing its AMD 500 Series motherboards for multiple future generations of processors. We have recently been getting leaks about AMD’s upcoming 5800x and 5900x processors, and it looks like MSI wants their motherboards to be ready before they are launched. It has just published a roadmap going through the end of October detailing the forthcoming BIOS updates. These updates will not only be for the Ryzen 3000 series, but also 4000 series and other future AM4 processors. It’s nice to see the trend continue with future compatibility for the AM4 socket.

It has already included links for AMD B550 and X570 owners to download their motherboard specific BIOS. Updates for the A520 motherboards are planned towards the end of October.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
