Following yesterday’s Mandalorian teaser, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Disney+ is coming to Xbox Game Pass in the form of a trial promotion for Ultimate subscribers.

While this deal isn’t as good as what we had initially predicted (an ongoing subscription rolled into the $14.99 tier), it’s a cost-free way for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to check out whether Disney+ lives up to the hype.

“Starting today, Ultimate members will be able to stream all of the great entertainment available with Disney+, including content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic,” Microsoft wrote.

“From old favorites to the latest epic movies, series and Originals from the worldโ€™s best storytellers, including the new season of The Mandalorian, weโ€™re excited to provide this trial as a Perk to our members.”

To begin the 30-day subscription trial, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users can simply visit the Perks Gallery, claim the relevant Perk, and then activate their subscription on the Disney+ site. This offer is available until January 31.

  1. 30-day trial is what you get after people were expecting an actual subscription to be included. That’s funny stuff.

  2. It’s a win for Disney. At least 10-15% of the people who sign up are going to forget about the fact that this trial was “sold” to them, and they’ll continue to pay for the Disney+ service without ever using it.

  3. I need an emoticon for a dude twirling his finger in the air for whoop-de-doo
