Even if you’re unable to source one of AMD’s new Ryzen 5000 series processors, you can begin prepping for one. ASRock has announced that it’s releasing new BIOSes for its line of B450 motherboards. There is no word on whether it plans to offer similar updates for its 300 Series motherboards, but it should be noted that someone was spotted using one with a Ryzen 9 5900X recently. Support for the now four-year-old AM4 socket continues to roll out from AMD and its partners. Considering the impressive gains seen with the Ryzen 5000 series, there are probably more than a few people looking to upgrade their CPUs soon.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
