Tweets by momomo_us have revealed that ASRock and BIOSTAR Z490 motherboards will support Intel Rocket Lake-S processors (LGA 1200) after a BIOS update. Interestingly, the W480 Creator and H470 Steel Legend both made the list.

BIOSTAR has also released a promotional banner confirming support for 11th gen Rocket Lake-S Core processors on Z490 Series motherboards.

Early rumblings have hinted at a spring release for Intel’s new processors, the production of which might begin next month. Z490 motherboard owners are unlikely to take advantage of all of Rocket Lake-S’s features, such as PCIe 4.0, but they can look forward to its other benefits.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
