Cyberpunk 2077’s latest patch, 1.1, has reportedly introduced a game-halting bug that prevents players from continuing the sci-fi RPG’s main story. The issue stems from a fix for a quest called “Down on the Street,” in which a character named Takemura is supposed to call V but doesn’t (“Fixed an issue where Takemura wouldn’t call in Down on the Street”). While Patch 1.1 addresses that and Takemura eventually calls as intended, he doesn’t say a single word, which effectively halts the mission and prevents progression.

A user on r/cyberpunkgame has shared a video confirming that the bug exists. It isn’t clear whether CD PROJEKT RED will be able to (re)address this issue in time for the next patch, but another user has supposedly found a workaround that involves calling Judy in advance. The call will interrupt the mission and delay it to a future time, in which Takemura will call again with the proper dialogue.

“Try to call Judy before you receive the call from Takemura,” they explained. “Stay on the phone until he calls. End your conversation with Judy and his face should be gone. You can now play other missions. I then completed a Delamain side job and waited 24 hours.”

“After driving around for a few minutes, I got the call from Takemura with normal dialogue. I have not tested this by completing a different side job, but i believe doing any side job should work. If you aren’t able to call Judy before Takemura calls, you will have to revert to an earlier save.”

CD PROJEKT RED released patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077 yesterday. The patch introduced a variety of stability improvements such as memory usage improvements and crash fixes, as well as an assortment of quest fixes. Unfortunately, not all of them worked out.
