Hitman 3 players have figured out how to beat the Dubai level in record time. PC Gamer spotted two impressive nine-second finishes by Wreak and Der_Lauch_Linus, both of which were recorded on Speedrun.com. They have since been beaten by Goron, who managed to beat the level in eight seconds.

The targets can be taken out at the very beginning of the level. It isn’t clear whether the developer intended this, but it could be an homage to Hideo Kojima. DSOG noted that Metal Gear Solid 3 had such a scenario. Speedruns are nothing new, but it is rare when they’re achieved solely by skill as opposed to a glitch or developer exploit.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
