IKEA has confirmed that its new lineup of gaming furniture, which was partially developed in collaboration with ASUS ROG, will be available globally beginning on October 2021. The collection comprises more than 30 products ranging from gaming desks and chairs to mug holders and neck pillows in the HUVUDSPELARE, UTESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UPPSPEL, and LÅNESPELARE product families. IKEA has clarified that the UPPSPEL products are the ones that ASUS ROG had a hand in designing.

“Gamers globally know and love the ROG brand and they trust it to deliver the most exciting gaming innovations in the market,” said Kris Huang, General Manager of the ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit Kris Huang. “Our new partnership with the experts at IKEA will allow ROG to find new and interesting ways to delight gamers in and around the home.”

”The needs of billions of gamers around the globe are very diverse, whereas the existing offer is rather technical and often perceived as masculine design-wise, despite around 46% of gamers being female. We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratise the gaming experience”, said Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace, IKEA of Sweden. ”Now we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect people’s personality and taste”.

IKEA didn’t elaborate on how much its gaming furniture would cost in the States, but the retailer’s press release does include 24 high-resolution photographs that show each individual product in greater detail. These include the UPPSPEL gaming desk and drawer unit, which were designed with the help of ASUS ROG and feature decals with the popular brand’s motifs.
