Overclockers Rauf, OGS, and rsannino has set 16 new world records with GALAX’s new GeForce RTX 3090 HOF OC LAB Edition. Liquid nitrogen was used, which is nothing new for achieving incredible speeds, but it could not have happened without the GPU’s exceptional power design. It features a 12-layer PCB, 3x 8-pin connectors, and a 14+8+4 DrMOS phase power design that allows for unprecedented power delivery to the GA102 GPU. Boost clock speeds ranged from 2,700 MHz to over 3,000 MHz.

Here are a few images of the setup. Take note of the particularly beefy power cables. There’s no mention of what kind of PSU was used, but GALAX recommends at least 1000 W for the HOF OC LAB edition.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
