The GeForce RTX 3060 has been tested in Ashes of the Singularity’s Crazy 1080p benchmark ahead of its February 25 release. The GPU achieved a score of 6,600 with an average of 67.8 FPS in one test, and a score of 6,800 with an average of 69.8 FPS in another (probably overclocked).

VideoCardz has published a chart showing it outperforming the GeForce RTX 2060 by 19 percent. It falls significantly short of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, however, which features an average score of 7,900 and average FPS of 84. The RTX 3060 Ti is around 18 percent faster.

The GeForce RTX 3060 features 12 GB GDDR6, making it the only card in the RTX 30 Series to have more than 8 GB of memory besides the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. How it’ll perform in future AotS benchmarks at higher resolutions remains to be seen.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
