Intel’s next flagship processor, the 11th Gen Core i9-11900K, will have exceptionally good single-core performance. This is according to a new CPU-Z benchmark submitted by a user by the name of VampsPC, who managed to hit 716 points with the flagship Rocket Lake-S CPU in the system profiling and monitoring application’s single-core benchmark. This happens to be 132 points higher than the runner-up in CPU-Z’s overall single-thread rankings, the Intel Core i9-10900K (584 points).

VampsPC has clarified that his 11th Gen Core i9-11900K “Rocket Lake-S” processor was benchmarked at stock settings. The CPU-Z listing also confirms that all of the CPU’s cores were running at a clock speed of 4.7 GHz. An ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII EXTREME motherboard with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory was used for the test.

CPU-Z’s overall single-thread rankings do not include AMD’s Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 Series processors, but comparisons can be made with a list published by Guru3D.com. At the top of that list is the Ryzen 9 5950X with 677 points, which is 39 points lower than what Intel’s 11th Gen Core i9-11900K “Rocket Lake-S” processor can seemingly achieve.
