MSI has refreshed its Aegis, Codex, Trident, and Infinite gaming desktop lines. They have been upgraded with Intel 11th Gen Core Processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs ranging from the RTX 3050 up to the RTX 3090. The new CPUs offer single-core clock speeds of up to 5.3 GHz, while memory in the Trident models go up 64 GB of DDR4. Storage options include SATA or PCIe SSDs; some come with an additional HDD. Pricing starts at $1,349 and goes up depending on the configuration. CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – March 16, 2021 — MSI, a world leader in gaming hardware and innovative business solutions, announced today that gaming desktops including the Aegis, Codex, Trident and Infinite series will feature the all-new 11th Gen Intel Core processors in conjunction with recently released GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs.

The Aegis, Codex, Trident and Infinite series are built to meet the unique needs of each type of player, from entry-level MAG gamers to performance-level MPG players and even hardcore MEG players. The new 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs bring greater Multi-Core and Single-Core performance, reaching up to 5.3 GHz in single core Turbo boost frequency. The increase in computational performance allows for smoother, higher-quality game play, reaching higher frames per second output and fidelity, even in AAA gaming titles, compared to the previous generation CPUs. Multi-tasking performance is also refined for a better experience when streaming or performing other tasks like video editing. These new Intel CPUs introduce PCIe Gen 4 SSD compatibility to the platform, significantly reducing software load times compared to conventional hard disk drives.

Assembled in the United States, many of the desktops are composed almost completely from MSI components, beginning with the chassis, motherboard and graphics card, to even the CPU cooling solution and PSU on select models. These configurations promote easy component upgradability along with MSI’s uncompromised quality.

“MSI continues its pledge to be the most trusted name in gaming and esports as we strive to lead our industry in breakthroughs in design, pursuit of excellence and technological innovation,” said Andy Tung, CEO of MSI. “We know gamers value reliable performance, breath-taking visuals, high fidelity sound, precise control and smooth streaming when choosing a PC, which is why MSI is one of the first to offer this new generation of Intel technology to our customers as soon as it becomes available.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
