Control and Max Payne developer Remedy Entertainment is reportedly working on a sequel to its cult-classic psychological thriller, Alan Wake. The rumor stems from VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, who suggested on a Twitch stream yesterday that the game was definitely in the works following a lucrative publishing deal that Remedy made with Epic Games. Alan Wake 2 will presumably resolve the fate of the titular writer who, despite appearing in various spin-offs such as American Nightmare and Control’s AWE DLC, remains trapped in the creepy cabin beneath Cauldron Lake.

“I’ve heard that Remedy’s going to be making Alan Wake 2 with Epic, and it should be the follow up to what fans of that series wants. There was a bidding war, but Epic had the best publishing deal, so Alan Wake 2 is coming. I don’t know exactly when they’re going to announce it, but this is what I’ve heard.”
