As if the new trailers and info dump for Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness weren’t enough, Capcom finished off its Resident Evil Showcase event today by announcing that franchise godfather Shinji Mikami’s final Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 4, is headed to Facebook’s Quest 2 headset courtesy of Oculus Studios and Armature Studio. While the VR version of Resident Evil 4 won’t be thoroughly detailed until the Oculus Gaming Showcase next week, Capcom, Oculus Studios, and Armature Studio shared some short clips that reveal how the classic 2005 game will look in a first-person perspective. Mike Verdu, VP of Content at Facebook Reality Labs, assured fans that the new perspective brings a new richness and depth to the original experience.

“We’re thrilled for you to experience the world of Resident Evil 4 in a new medium—one where the immersion of a first-person perspective, Touch controllers, and no shortage of technical ingenuity will bring new depth to what you know and love about this highly acclaimed game,” says Facebook Reality Labs VP of Content Mike Verdu.
