Confirming previous rumors, Apple announced today that its music streaming service, Apple Music, will be getting a new Lossless Audio option that allows listeners to enjoy its catalog in the highest audio quality possible. Apple Music is also getting Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos, which will provide what the company describes as a revolutionary, immersive audio experience. These new features will be available to Apple Music subscribers at no cost beginning June 2021.

Spatial Audio gives artists the opportunity to create immersive audio experiences for their fans with true multidimensional sound and clarity. Apple Music subscribers will also be able to listen to more than 75 million songs in Lossless Audio — the way the artists created them in the studio. These new features will be available for Apple Music subscribers starting next month at no additional cost.
