When Tesla unveiled its refreshed infotainment system for Model S and Model X vehicles earlier this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk pointed out that it would be powerful enough to play CD PROJEKT RED’s controversial sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Musk confirmed the infotainment system’s gaming capabilities during a delivery event for the new Model S Plaid last night, demoing the game on the electric vehicle’s 17-inch touch screen. While it isn’t clear what resolution or quality level Cyberpunk 2077 was running at, Musk did clarify that the infotainment system offers PlayStation 5-level performance thanks to AMD’s Ryzen Embedded APU and RDNA 2-based GPU (Navi 23) technologies. Carrying a price tag of $124,490, Tesla’s Model S Plaid features a 390-mile range, 200-mph top speed, and 0 to 60 time of 1.99 seconds.

“It’s not PS4. It’s PS5. There’s never been a car that’s had this state-of-the-art infotainment, where this is literally at the level of a PlayStation 5. […] Yes, it can play Cyberpunk 2077. […] High frame rate, 60 frames per second, with state-of-the-art games.”
