Netflix today announced the cast for its upcoming live-action series based on Capcom’s survival horror franchise, Resident Evil. Headlining the cast is The Wire and John Wick’s Lance Reddick, who will be playing iconic ex-S.T.A.R.S. member and virologist Albert Wesker. Reddick will be joined by Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Siena Agudong (Upside Down Magic), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Paola Nunez (Bad Boys for Life). Taking place across two timelines, Netflix’s Resident Evil show will tell a brand-new story revolving around the Wesker children.

[…] In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. […] Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus.
