In a surprising twist, EA is doing something unheard of with its loot boxes in FIFA 21. For a limited time, players will be able to preview their content before purchasing. The timing coincides with the Festival of FUTball and will end along with it on July 16. Preview Packs will be the only type available during this time and can be purchased using FUT Coins or FIFA Points. There is a step-by-step guide for using the new feature on The Pitch Notes support page.

Choosing a Preview Pack will perform the usual pack-opening animation and show the player its contents, but without taking payment from the player.

If they decide not to buy the pack, a refresh timer will then be applied, during which time they can come back and buy the pack if they change their mind.

Once the refresh timer ends, the pack will be removed and a new pack will be made available to preview.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
