It has been announced that Matthew Robinson (Monster Trucks, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and Love and Monsters) will be writing the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie. Announced in 2020, it will utilize material from various X-Wing novels released between 1996 to 2012. Patty Jenkins will be directing it. She took to Twitter last year to explain how her father inspired her to take on the project. He was an F-4 fighter pilot who lost his life while in service.

Rogue Squadron will “introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing high-speed thrill ride,” said Star Wars boss Kathleen Kennedy. The movie is currently set to release on December 22, 2023.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
