One of the changes that BioWare decided to make with its newly remastered compilation of Mass Effect games, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, was removing some of its apparently controversial camera angles, such as those that drew focus to the butt of human Cerberus officer and squad member Miranda Lawson. A modder by the name of linkenski has now released a mod that restores those angles for Mass Effect fans who desire a presentation that’s more faithful to the original releases. Dubbed “Miranda Buttshots Restored,” the mod can be installed using the ME3Tweaks Mod Manager, a mod manager that supports both the original Mass Effect Trilogy and newer Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

  • Changed the camera data back on her butt, with precise location data on the “Something big” line in the Spectre Office.

“I do think a lot of things have evolved since [the original games] but I don’t know if I would say we were ultra-concerned about it or anything like that, but there were considerations,” [Mass Effect Legendary Edition director Mac] Walters said. “[Character and environment director Kevin Meek] actually called out some camera cuts that were just… why was that focusing on Miranda’s butt? So in some cases we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change there.'”
