Konami has confirmed that it is rebranding its popular Pro Evolution Soccer series to eFootball and turning it into a new experience. Rebuilt in Unreal Engine and launching worldwide for PC (Windows 10, Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, iOS, and Android later this year, Konami’s eFootball will be a title that’s completely free to play. The game will also support cross-generation and cross-platform matches, allowing players to compete against one another regardless of their preferred device. Konami has complemented eFootball’s announcement with an official reveal trailer that demonstrates the new title’s overhauled graphics, animations, and gameplay.

Our ambition was to recreate the perfect soccer environment, from the grass on the field, to the players’ movement, all the way to the crowds in the stadium. To this end, we decided to create a new soccer engine with a newly built animation system and revamped game commands. The final result was even more impressive than we had originally conceived.
