Synthetic Storage Benchmarks
PCMark 10
We are using PCMark 10’s Full System Drive Storage Benchmark. It outputs an overall score (higher is better) that is derived from the Bandwidth (higher is better) as well as access time (lower is better) results.
In PCMark 10 the Sabrent Rocket 500GB scores 1958 on the overall score. This performs under the performance of the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB SSD. We know the write performance of the Sabrent Rocket is less, and this is mainly the difference.
The Sabrent Rocket 500GB has a bandwidth score of 318MB/s in PCMark 10 and the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB scores 354MB/s.
In PCMark 10 the average access time of the Sabrent Rocket 500GB is 87 while the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB is 80. Therefore the access time is a little slower on the Sabrent Rocket 500GB.
PassMark PerformanceTest
We are using PassMark’s PerformanceTEST Disk Mark benchmark only. This test benchmarks Disk Sequential Read, Disk Sequential Write, IOPS 32KQD20, IOPS 4KQD1 tests and outputs an overall score (higher is better.)
In PassMark PerformanceTest the Sabrent Rocket 500GB scored 31421 while the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB scores 39445. This difference is down to the write performance tests, as well as random performance.
