Throughput Benchmarks (SEQ and RND)

CrystalDiskMark

We are using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark sequential and random throughput of read and write performance. For these NVMe SSDs, we are using the NVMe profile in CrystalDiskMark. This tests SEQ1M Q8T1, SEQ128K Q32T1, RND4K Q32T16, and RND4K Q1T1.

Sabrent Rocket 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD CrystalDiskMark SEQ1M Q8T1

In CrystalDiskMark the SEQ1M Q8T1 test shows the Sabrent Rocket 500GB on par with read performance with the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB SSD. However, it’s the write performance that falls way behind. Of course, it’s only rated at 2500MB/s, to begin with, and is therefore within spec. The read speed is definitely in spec as the rated speed is 5000MB/s, so that is right there. The write speed falls behind a bit.

Sabrent Rocket 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD CrystalDiskMark SEQ128K Q32T1

The same is true in SEQ128K Q32T1 test, read performance is at the theoretical maximum, so it is well within spec. The write performance is closer to the theoretical maximum of 2500MB/s, so for the drive itself, it’s performing great. However, compared to other drives like the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB it falls way behind.

Sabrent Rocket 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD RND4K Q32T16

In random performance, the Sabrent Rocket 500GB seems to fall behind. It did well in sequential, but in random it falls way behind in read performance but is close to its maximum in write performance. This is still well under the CORSAIR SSD however.

Sabrent Rocket 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD CrystalDIskMark RND4K Q32T16

The same is true in RND4K Q32T16 performance, read falls behind on the Sabrent but write is actually at its maximum. This falls way short of the CORSAIR Force MP600 1TB.
