It’s still unclear when Intel will officially announce its next mainstream desktop processors, the 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake-S” series, but a number of European stores have already begun listing select chips along with their prices.
According to a list shared by momomo_us, the Core i9-12900K will cost between 540 ($640.59) to 608 EUR ($721.26) without VAT and 653 ($774.64) to 736 ($873.11) EUR with VAT. This is the flagship Alder Lake-S chip featuring 8 “Performance” and 8 “Efficiency” cores and base/boost clock speeds of 3.2 GHz/5.3 GHz.
Intel’s Alder Lake processors are unique in that they use a new hybrid CPU architecture that leverages two different types of CPU cores, one of which is focused on performance, while the other is designed for efficiency. The new series should also be exciting thanks to its DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 support.
Intel will be holding a special event on October 27. It isn’t clear whether its 12th Gen Core processors might be unveiled on this date, but the company has confirmed that they will be launched before the end of the year.

The top model, the Core i9-12900K, will receive eight fast Golden Cove cores and eight frugal Gracemont cores. The fast cores can boost up to 5.3GHz. In total, the processor has 30MB L3 cache at its disposal. The Core i7-12700K has just as many fast cores, but lacks half of the frugal computing cores and has a 300MHz lower boost speed. Finally, the i5-12600K also lacks two of the fast cores.
